Pilot Procedures

In order to fly "as real as it gets" it is important to file a flight plan "as real as it gets"!

In Flight Simulator or available Flight Planners, Morocco was not well defined, and a lot of mistakes have been made.
Those procedures will help you creating a file plan that allows you to fly from/to Casablanca FIR with actual procedures.

SOME SUGGESTIONS

1- FLIGHT PLANNING

First of all, when creating a Flight plan, please use the correct format: SID name(if available), airways and intersections, and STAR(if available)
FS2004 flight plans are not tolerated, and create erroneous Flight planes for Morocco.
If you use a flightplanner, make sure you don't "auto-generate" your flight plan to moroccan airports.
They usually find a route that is not fuel/time efficient and for some airports does not anticipate the STAR procedures.
What I suggest is to generate the Flight plan yourself, (for example de FP button using FSbuild) and take into consideration
the procedures:

2- FLIGHT LEVELS

As a Pilot in IFR, make sure you enter the correct flight level when filling a Flight Plan. Morocco follows the RVSM  North/South rules which are:

Table of cruising levels in North - South RVSM airspace for IFR flights (& VFR flights in controlled airspace)

Table of cruising levels in North - South RVSM airspace for VFR flights outside controlled airspace

for more infos about RVSM click here

HOWEVER the cruising level must to be checked according the airway

3- ARRIVALS

a- North Arrivalsyour entry point in Casablanca FIR should always be GALTO
which corresponds to the UN869 airway, this airway is a southbound one only!

b- Portugal and West Arrivals for arrivals from Portugal, England, west of Spain, your entry point should be AMSEL located on the UR72 airway. Note that this airway
becomes southbound from AMSEL until CBA(casablanca) VOR.

c- East Arrivals for arrivals from Italy, Greece and north Africa further east: Your Entry point should be OJD(Oujda) VOR, it is located on the UA411
Airway.

d- South Arrivals for Arrivals from Cannary islands, your entry point should be KORAL located on the UN871(except for GMAD arrivals), this airway is northbound only!
other arrivals from South, all airways are available and you may choose from available entry points which are: SOLNA(UA600), ECHED(UR975)
BULIS(multiple airways)

4- DEPARTURES

a- Northbound always use the G5 airway to KORIS wich is the exit point of the Casa FIR. This airway is northbound only!

b- West and Portugal for portugal or england, you can consider the OSLAD exit point located on the UR724 airway.

c- East and Mediterranean for departures east bound, and if you destinations is in the mediterranean sea region, you should consider the BERUM exit point on UG850 or the OJD exit point located on the UA411.

d- Southbound
for southbound departures, you can use SOLNA, ECHED and BULIS as exit points.
for canary islands, you point of exit should be RUSIK only!located on the UG850 airway (except for departures from GMAD, DEVLA is also an
exit point)

5- TRANSIT

- For transit planes, please consider choosing the compatible airway for your route, this picture below shows all the airways that have
direction restriction, all the others that are not shown should be considered as north&southbound airways.

As noted, those are only suggestions, you may create a flight plan that may suite your needs.
